Pair of Antique French Brown Glazed Confit Pots

- /per
The classic French confit pot, typically found in the South West of France, dates from the late 18th and 19th century. It was used for preserving food such as meats, especially duck, which is a local speciality.
These pots have a lovely rich deep chocolate brown glaze to the exterior, with a beautiful crackled white glazed interior. Slightly different in size, they compliment each other perfectly.
This is a very old and well used item with many decades of use. As such, it has age-related marks, scratches and scrapes which enhance its rustic appeal. It has not been tested for water-tightness, and is sold as a decorative object.
