There is crackling to the oil, which adds a charm and shows that this painting has real age. Held to the light there are slight holes, but this cannot be seen when against a wall.

This is a very old and well used item with many decades of use. As such, it has age-related marks, scratches and scrapes which enhance its rustic appeal.
