Made in the Auvergne department of France, this antique walnut oil jug has plenty of character. Dating from the 18th Century, it was used to hold precious walnut oil, an expensive ingredient at the time.
The condition can only be described as excellent, with very few marks. Astounding considering its 250 year age. It has a rich green colour.
It has an interesting texture that indicates its many decades of use.
This is a very old and well used item with many decades of use. As such, it has age-related marks, scratches and scrapes which enhance its rustic appeal. It has not been tested for water-tightness, and is sold as a decorative object.
