These five brushes are new old stock from SNCF, the French railway operator. Featuring a copper bristle holder, these brushes would likely have been used to help the mechanics grease the train parts. It is rare to find them in their original paper wrap.
They have signs of ancient woodworm, but have been fully treated.
This is a very old and well used item with many decades of use. As such, it has age-related marks, scratches and scrapes which enhance its rustic appeal.
