Antique French Blue Glazed Martres-Tolosane Confit Pot With Lid

Dating from the 19th Century, this style of confit pots were made in Martres-Tolosane in Haute-Garonne, Southwest France. Unlike their more common confit pot cousins, these were not buried in the ground, but displayed with pride in the kitchen.
This pot, in blue, comes with its lid which are increasingly difficult to find intact.
These pots look great on their own as a focal piece, as a vase, and also very practical as beautiful kitchen storage.
This is a very old and well used item with many decades of use. As such, it has age-related marks, scratches and scrapes which enhance its rustic appeal. It has not been tested for water-tightness, and is sold as a decorative object. This pot has a chip on the lid as shown in photos.
