This pair of 18th century wooden candle wall sconces were handpainted in gold and a deep rich burgundy, two aristocratic colours.
It is difficult to find pre-electric sconces, as many were destroyed or converted. This pair are exceptionally well preserved given their over 250 years of history.
This is a very old and well used item with many decades of use. As such, it has age-related marks, scratches and scrapes which enhance its rustic appeal.
