Antique French Portrait Painted on Wooden Board

This antique French portrait of a gentleman dating from the 19th century is painted direct onto timber. It has a rustic feel.

It has been repaired to stop the timber splitting, but the repair adds to the character.

This is a very old and well used item with many decades of use. As such, it has age-related marks, scratches and scrapes which enhance its rustic appeal.
