Antique French Hand Carved Hunting Scene

This hand carved single piece of wood has an artisan carving of a hunting scene. It depicts a hunter of horseback, dogs and the fallen prey - a deer. The wording at the bottom reads 'Apres l'attaque' (after the attack).

Truly a one off hand carved gem.

The wood has warped overtime and means the carving has a curve to it, but this is unimportant when hung.

This is a very old and well used item with many decades of use. As such, it has age-related marks, scratches and scrapes which enhance its rustic appeal.
